Techcronus upgraded their project management, time entry, and approval systems by implementing custom plugins, workflows, and rule-based validations. The solution features direct approvals via Power BI reports, automated email reminders, automated leave processing, and custom admin tools to enhance operational accuracy and productivity.

Key Features:

Validation & Governance Rules:

  • Self-Approval Prevention & Line Manager Rules: Prevents project approvers from approving their own time entries and enforces mandatory line manager approvals.
  • Work Hours & Overtime Validations: Implemented automated rules and custom filters to regulate work hours and ensure compliance with overtime policies.
  • Scripting & Plugin Rules: Utilized JavaScript and backend plugins to execute complex data validations during time entry.

Reporting & Approval Automations:

  • In-Report Approvals: Embedded action buttons within Power BI dashboards to allow instant entry approval or rejection directly from reports.
  • Leave Approval Automation: Created automated Power Automate flows to auto-approve designated leave-type entries, reducing administrative workload.
  • Scheduled Entry Reminders: Automated recurring email notifications sent every Monday and Friday to prompt timely time sheet submissions.

Data Management & Integration Control:

  • Automated Status Transitioning: Developed custom plugins to seamlessly move imported time entry records through Draft, Submitted, and Approved states.
  • FinOps Synchronization Guardrails: Controlled data flows by halting automatic syncs of leave types created in Project Operations from transferring to FinOps to safeguard financial records.
  • Bulk Data Import App: Built a specialized Admin App to assist HR administrators in importing bulk project and employee data efficiently.

Custom Data Schema & Platform Extensions

  • Portfolio Architecture: Designed a custom Portfolio entity table directly linked to Project Contracts, Contract Lines, and Projects.
  • Standard Application Customization: Modified out-of-the-box tables, forms, and apps to match KBR’s operational workflows.
